On April 20, the National Federation of Port and Harbor Workers' Unions (NFFW) notified the Japan Port Transport Association that it is ready to take various actions, including a strike at all ports and in all occupations, in connection with the issue of the opening of a new ferry route between Yokosuka Port's Shinko Pier and the Port of Kitakyushu. They also requested the Port and Harbor Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to cooperate in resolving the issue.
