Marine Star (Osaka) plans to establish "One World Logistics Japan" as a wholly owned subsidiary in Japan this month. The new company will strengthen its handling of cargoes to and from Japan in cooperation with the CP World Group, after CP World, a NVOCC in Singapore, which has appointed the company as its agent in Singapore, established One World Logistics, which specializes in LCL (ocean consolidation) in the country. Marine Star provides direct consolidation services to a wide variety of destinations from Kansai, Kanto, Nagoya, and Hakata, including to New Zealand, which is its specialty. As the marine container market continues to be in turmoil due to soaring freight rates caused by a shortage of space and empty containers, the company intends to continue to provide stable LCL services as a "pure consolidator" by utilizing the new company.
