Kintetsu World Express has acquired Prestige Cargo Services Inc. (Prestige), a logistics company specializing in perishable marine products. Prestige is a logistics company based in Montreal and Halifax, Canada, specializing in marine perishables, and has been developing air freight services to Europe and Asia, with lobster from Canada's east coast as its main cargo item. Through KWE (Canada), Kintetsu Express will acquire all shares of Prestige on May 1, making it a consolidated subsidiary of KWE (Canada). This will enable KWE (Canada) to expand its handling volume of marine perishables, which is the mainstay of its export forwarding business, and to broaden its customer base in the domestic perishables distribution market in Canada.
