Hong Kong (HKG) and Changi (SIN) airports saw a significant rebound in cargo volumes in 2024, benefiting from the return of passenger flights. Hong Kong, the world’s busiest cargo hub, reported a 14% increase in cargo to 4.9 million tonnes, driven by rising flight movements and strong e-commerce demand. Similarly, Changi Airport handled nearly 2 million tonnes, reflecting a 14.6% growth, boosted by the restart of passenger flights and increased demand for electronics and sea-air transport due to shipping disruptions. Both airports are expected to further benefit from new routes, increased bellyhold capacity, and infrastructure expansions in the coming year.
