The Japan Air Freight Forwarders Association (JAFA) reported July air export consolidated shipments from Japan totaled 83,465 tons (-15.4% y/y) and 822,151 shipments (-8.3% y/y). The weight of cargo declined year-on-year for the seventh consecutive month. By region, shipments to North, Central, and South America were down 15.1%, those to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa were down 12.4%, and those to Asia and Oceania excluding the Middle East were down 16.2%. Sales to China continued to be weak.
