Air freight index 2021 4Q

Lean Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as LE) announced the transition of air cargo fares reflecting the October-December 2021. This index is calculated originally by LE using the bidding data conducted by LE's international logistics platform e-Bid Freight and other external sources.

TC3 to TC1

This year was the peak season of the Christmas sales season, and the air freight rate remained high, driven by air freight from China to the United States. In particular, the high price range was 4.981, which was the highest since 2020. Fares vary widely, and the difference between the high and low prices has exceeded 2.2 times.

TC3 to TC2

Similar to the above, the air freight rate remained high during the peak season of the Christmas sales season. The high price range was 3.815, which was the highest since 2020, like TC1. The difference between the high and low prices is 1.73 times, which is smaller than that of TC1. It is thought that the cause was that the price remained high not only for airlines and forwarders in the peak season.

Japan to TC3

No major fluctuations have been seen, but the price is still high. The difference between the high and low prices is stable at around 1.75 times.

TC3 to Japan

Due to the influence of the end of the year, the price has remained high, and the high price range was 3.144, which was the highest since 2020. The difference between the high and low prices has more than doubled, which is wider than the actual results from July to September 2021.
