NX International Logistics (China), a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS Holdings (NXHD), has started a liner RORO vessel consolidation service between Qingdao and Osaka, China. The frequency of the service is once a week. By transporting trucks and chassis (cargo beds) loaded with cargo, the time required for loading and unloading at ports is eliminated, and the lead time is closer to the two days required for air transportation. The cost is lower than air transportation, with a shipment of 150 kg or more costing about one-quarter the cost of air transportation. In addition to containerized cargo, the service can also be used to transport special size and long bulk cargo.
